Kern's "Morality Proclamation" gets Wide Coverage

Coverage on the internet of Krazy Kern’s ‘Proclamation’ is huge. A Google search of 'Sally Kern’ and ‘proclamation’ yielded 40 pages of links! Most of those I viewed were strongly opposed to her views, as were most of the comments to posts. Here are just a few of the hundreds of links:

I attended the event at the Capitol and found that most of the local news coverage was fairly accurate. The estimates of 250 people there appeared a little high by my count. It was closer to perhaps 200, including the opposition group.

Sally's ignorance of many things is obvious. As a very minor example: in her press conference following the signing she was listing those persons who support her views and said 'A Brigadier General in the NAVY (whose name she could not remember)... Perhaps her ex-Marine preacher/spouse could teach her that the Navy has no 'Generals.'

As many of you know GOPer Rep. Sally Kern has issued a "Morality Proclamation" that blames America's economic recession and social problems on "sexual debauchery" including gay/lesbian citizenship.

Funny how she spouts off figures from polls indicating 80-90% belief in the christian god, yet she claims there's still not enough religion in America. Kern and her fundie Krew want the whole American pie, crust and crumbs included.

This recording was made in the hallway of the Capitol by an Oklahoma City resident. The press room was too small to hold all those media wanting access and this YouTube posting is just a portion of Kern's ignorant, hateful remarks and does not represent the rally held earlier.

For you homo-haters and bible-humpers crusing this website to get your blood up, let me remind you that satire is writing that makes fun of the subject by subtly and deliberately exaggerating facts, context, and background.  It's similar to what the bible-bangers do with their literal readings of holy writings.  One could say satire and fundie-reading are opposite sides of the same coin: one is writing disguised as truth to mock falsehood; the other is writing in desperation disguised as truth.

GOPer Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern's recent "morality proclamation" consists solely of religious divisiveness. The First Amendment requires our government--local, state and federal--to make no law respecting religion. ( http://tinyurl.com/lmhn5p )

No religious belief need be respected if it is advocating that certain citizens who have broken no law must be separated from their civil rights. Just because the religion has a dogmatic disagreement with other people who are NOT members of that religion is no reason gays/lesbians must be subjected to religious opprobrium and denial of the benefits and privileges that hetero people enjoy only because of the accident of their birth.
